The Minors Harley-Davidson sponsored HSR number 35 car and driver- 15 year old Hunter Schuerenberg of Sikeston, MO have proven to be a force to be reckoned with as they travel the very competitive Mid South Thunder Racing series of the USCS.

The young racing prodigy finished 4th this weekend at Columbus Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi after starting a distant 12th. In only five starts with the USCS, Hunter has already secured 2 top fives as well as 2 top ten finishes, as well as also securing a faithful following of fans and devoted cheering sections at each track he visits.

Over the Memorial Day weekend, Hunter opened with the USCS Mid South Thunder Racing series at the high banked 1/3 mile track at Crossville, TN Hunter started 18th in a field of 24 cars and charged to a 9th place finish during his first night with the USCS. His second night saw a continuation of his mature decision making at the high banked 4/10 mile track at Garnertown, TN The youngster started at the tail end of his heat race and rallied to finish one spot out of the transfer spot and won the “B” main to start 16th in the “A” main to ultimately tally a 11th place finish. The final stop for the Memorial Day weekend proved to be very rewarding at the small, high banked ¼ mile track in Clarksville, TN Hunter started 8th in his heat race and charged to a 3rd place finish that would see him start 9th in the “A” main The 15 year old superstar in the making drove to an impressive 4th place finish and picked up the Speedmart “YOUNG GUN” of the race award for his impressive performance.

Schuerenberg recently took his hot streak to the north Alabama speedway, where he started the race 14th and finished in the 6 spot. The second night of action at Columbus Mississippi would prove to be another great run for this youngster, he started 12th in the 22 car “A” main and once again charged through the field to finish an impressive 4th behind Mike Ward, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. & Terry Gray. The month of May also saw Hunter in his first ever attempt at racing a wingless Sprint Car in Memphis, TN he started 10th and found himself in the 5th spot when the checkered flag flew-for his first top 5 in his first wingless attempt. He also impressed the crowd as he posted his first top 3 finish of the year- the very next weekend at Memphis Motorsports Park from a 5th place starting position.

If you’re a racing fan, then you’ll love Hunter, if you’re not a racing fan, you will be after seeing this young man weave his way towards the front of the pack. This youngster cannot wait to go to sleep at night, just so he can wake back up and get in a race car the next day…
